Sr. Manager, Finance and Operations
Time Commitment: Part Time ( 30 hours per week)
Compensation: $53,625+ Benefits commensurate with education and experience

The Role
The Senior Manager of Operations will report to the Executive Director and will effectively manage financial needs and oversight of a rapidly growing nonprofit. This role will maintain cordial and professional working relationships with the Executive Team, Leadership Council, and several contractors to improve efficiency across the organization. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with experience maintaining systems and meticulous attention to detail.
Responsibilities
Financial Management (50%)
Oversees Accounts Payable and Payroll operations for LF
Works with the accountant to review and reconcile monthly financial reporting and expense categorization
Maintains event budgets and reconciles with the bank account regularly
Vendor management who liaises with vendors to ensure accurate and timely payments
MOA and other contract writing and payment negotiations for vendors and contractors
Development Support (10%)
Stewards the grant contract process from notification until the money is in our account
Supports with funder outreach, engagement, and reporting
Sends acknowledgments, contracts, and thank you letters
Operations (40%)
Works with the Executive Director to create, maintain, and refine systems for planning, tracking, grant compliance, and staff management
Leads the creation and implementation of the CRM, databases, and/or project management platforms that integrate data across departments
Proactively identifies opportunities for streamlining administrative processes
Provides operations support and staffing for LF events
Performs additional duties as assigned
Supports eventbrite and Zoom event postings and management for seamless data management and integration
Job Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience in finance or operations or 7+ years of experience without a degree
Pass a background check
Experience in grant management and accounting
Experience with Google Docs and Google Sheets
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail, project management, and impeccable organizational skills is a bonus
Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and follow through with minimal direction
Adept at problem-solving and conflict resolution
Flexibility in varied job assignments
Familiarity with social justice, racial justice, and LGBTQ+ communities
Preferred
Master’s degree and 5+ years of experience
Experience with Quickbooks, CRM, Salesforce, Asana, Gusto, and/or donor management software
An upbeat, positive attitude and a good sense of humor

Lighthouse Foundation of Chicagoland provides group health, dental, and vision insurance plans to all full-time employees. Details concerning available plans, coverage levels, and premium costs are in the benefit information provided during new hire orientation or available from Human Resources. Lighthouse Foundation of Chicagoland will cover 80% of the premium for all full-time employees.
A new employee has the option to join the plan on the first day of the following month of employment with Lighthouse Foundation of Chicagoland. All necessary enrollment forms must be completed by the employee before this date, in order for the enrollment date to remain accurate.
