Emma Blau (all pronouns) is Chicago-based trombonist, composer, Vinyl DJ and Jewish Educator born and raised in New York City. Most recently, Emma was selected by International Anthem as an Artist in Residence at Theater Gate’s “The Land School” for Spring 2026 where they presented their new project, Beis Music, exploring the intersection between Jewish Liturgical Music and House Music. Emma performs regularly around Chicagoland and has been featured as part of 2026 International Jazz Day, The Chicago Jazz Festival, Chicago’s MCA Tuesday on The Terrace as well as Hey Nonny’s Women in Jazz Festival.  As a freelance Jewish Educator, Emma works with families who seek exciting and engaging pathways to positive Jewish expression that refuse the manipulation of Jewish trauma, history and ethics to justify violence, Jewish Supremacy, war and genocide. Through her music, education and advocacy, she is dedicated to building sanctuary that is inseparable from the liberation of Queer BIPOC.
